Since meeting at the Royal College of Music in 2013, composer Lewis Murphy and writer Laura Attridge have quickly established themselves as one of the most exciting young creative partnerships on the opera scene today. Together, they aim to bring to the stage stories which respond directly to the modern world and are accessible to a diverse audience. Click here to read more about their work together.
Their ever-growing project portfolio as a duo already includes commissions from The Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne, Scottish Opera, English Touring Opera and the National Opera Studio. 2020 saw their innovative charitable song project, Notes From Isolation, launch online, including performances from singers such as Nicky Spence, Natalya Romaniw and Dame Felicity Lott.
Lewis and Laura’s latest opera, ARC23, premiered in July 2022, and they are looking forward to sharing news of new commissions soon. You can find details of their joint portfolio here.
